The Belfast Operatic Company
…Titanic the Musical, that is. Staged in the TEC on the very ground that its components were made and just across the road from where the ship was designed and built, this Belfast Operatic Company production will run in a custom built theatre from 28th April to 3rd May 2020 in the TEC (the Titanic Exhibition Centre).

BOC Chairman Colin Boyd says “With the Grand Opera House closed in 2020 for refurbishment, and with no large theatre available in NI to stage such a mammoth performance, we had no option but to create our own theatre. We are grateful to the Grand Opera House for hosting our ticket selling and box office.

TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE. Please follow this link to the box office.

Titanic the Musical could well have been conceived just for a company like BOC. Originating in Ballymacarret Parish Church hall - a stone’s throw from the Harland and Wolff shipyard, it seemed entirely appropriate that Belfast Operatic should be offered the rights to stage this magnificent show. From our sell out Irish Premiere in 2005 to the Centenary production in 2012, being staged at the exact time when the iceberg struck 100 years earlier, Titanic has a special place in the hearts of all our members – some of whom are direct descendants of the men that constructed the great ship. The appetite for all things Titanic continues to grow globally, and the requests for us to stage it again have been constant. For more details please follow the link to Titanic the Musical.

Belfast Operatic Company’s first productions, 60 years ago, were almost exclusively musicals by the incomparable Gilbert and Sullivan, and their importance to the Company is still evident today. Over the years, however, the Company has embraced newly emerging theatrical tastes, and has never been afraid to break new ground. Our many productions, which included Irish and Northern Irish Premieres, are testament to this, with our extensive trophy cabinets exhibiting the evidence of the quality of many of these productions. Notable productions over the past few years include Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Jekyll and Hyde, a “standing room only” production of Sister Act and technologically advanced production of A Christmas Carol, and the kids Christmas classic, Elf, and of course Titanic .

We hope to see you in the audience once again in April 2020 to celebrate and commemorate the people that built the ship and those that will be forever associated with this most iconic phenomenon, and not least, help Belfast Operatic Company celebrate its Diamond Anniversary year!
